United Methodist Church of Green Trails

United Methodist Church of Green Trails in Chesterfield, Missouri became aware of the need for suitcases for foster children. A drive, spearheaded by Senior Pastor Nathanael Berneking, was launched which garnered 68 brand-new suitcases over a period of three weeks. The Missouri Alliance for Children and Families (MACF) was very happy to receive these donations on behalf of foster children. Most of the items were 3-piece sets purchased from Walmart for $19.99 to $29.99.

Such a drive can be replicated many times over by Pan-Methodist churches in their communities across the globe.

The MACF often receives battered luggage more suitable for trash bins than for use by the children who may move several times during their stay in the foster care system, carrying their belongings from place to place in plastic trash bags.

New suitcases provide a heightened sense of dignity and hope for these children. This project is only one of the ways the people of Green Trails demonstrate “extravagant generosity” toward others. 14237 Ladue Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017-3397 (314) 469-6740
